On September 22, M.A.Y. Online got up close and personal with 16 year
old model/actress Belen Gomez. During our interview we spoke about everything, from how she got started to where she is now
and everything in between!
M.A.Y. Online: I've seen some of your earlier photographs and you were
very young. When exactly did you get started and how?
Belen: I was 12 years old when I began to model
professionally because I had actually modeled as a baby in Argentina. It began as a game, me and my older sister, Luciana,
found the website OneModelPlace.com and decided to sign up and see what happens. We took some headshots and sent them in.
After about a month we both began to book small jobs and it just took off from there.
M.A.Y : Wow!
That was extreemly quick! How did you feel at first with all of the jobs and attention?
Belen: I
was excited. It was a lot of fun for me because my whole family would go with me to the places and it was like a mini road
trip. However, at first the attention and the adult aspect of "working" was a bit wierd.
M.A.Y: In
what way?
Belen: Well, I was only 12 or 13 and I was earning my own money. But my parents handled
that so I wouldn't waste all of it the first couple of days!
M.A.Y: How about acting when did that
start? Were you always interested in it?
Belen: Yes, I was always interested in acting and performing
but mostly at home and for my family. I'm in fact a shy person so it wasn't something I did in school or for others untill
middle school. I remember I did a play at school for my Spanish class and everyone enjoyed it, from then on I continued to
act publicly. I auditioned for the Florida Grand Opera and booked two productions, "Romeo et Juliette" and "Madama Butterfly".
M.A.Y: How old were you then?
Belen: I was 14 when I did "Romeo et Juliette"
and 15 when I did "Madama Butterfly". I was graduating from middle school and a lot of the rehearsals were during the week
and at night so it was hard to keep up with homework. I did most of it in my dressing room while on break.

M.A.Y: What are your newest projects? Anything you are working on?
Belen: A lot of acting. Which I'm loving. I'm currently rehearsing
for a comedic one-act centered on the Hispanic community but we have just started rehearsals so I don't have much more information
on that. I'll also be performing a monologue in a variety show called "Coffee House". And after those shows I'll be in "The
Diviners" but that will be later on so I don't have a lot of information on that.
M.A.Y: It looks like you are going to be very busy. When are
the first two shows going to debut?
Belen: On October but the date may change.
M.A.Y: Well, thats all the time we have but it was great
to meet you as well as to interview you. Congratulations on all of your achivements and good luck in your current performances!
Belen: Thank
you! It was a pleasure to meet you too.
